Preparing for Correction Requests in Wonju Personal Rehabilitation: Explaining Spending and Liquidation Value
A correction request (bojeong gwongo) is the step after you file for personal rehabilitation in Wonju in which the court asks the applicant for further explanations and documents. It asks where loans went, what your recent spending looked like and how much you spent on living costs, and verifies whether you qualify for rehabilitation. Below we set out, item by item, what to prepare for the correction request that almost always follows an application for personal rehabilitation (gaein hoesaeng).

Explaining how loans were used comes first
This is the item reviewed most often in correction requests in Wonju personal rehabilitation. Of loans received within the last year, any spending above KRW 500,000 to KRW 1 million must be explained.
The repayment amount rises by the amount included in the liquidation value.

Liquidation value: the floor for repayments
In a word, liquidation value is the value of the assets you currently hold in your name. For example, if you have KRW 5 million in deposits, KRW 2 million in shares and KRW 10 million in real estate value, the liquidation value comes to KRW 17 million in total. In Wonju personal rehabilitation too, you must repay at least the liquidation value.

This is an example of a correction asking for gambling amounts to be reflected in the liquidation value.

Liquidation value does not include only the assets you have left now. It also includes luxury spending, gambling, overspending and preferential repayment made only to family members. This means money already spent is treated as if it were an asset.
Correction orders asking how overseas travel expenses were used are also issued.

Bank accounts and cards are explained by amount
For account deposits and withdrawals, explain the use of every transaction of KRW 1 million or more, and submit supporting evidence for each use, such as hospital bills, labor costs and living costs.

For credit cards, explain every payment of KRW 500,000 or more. If you cannot explain problematic payments such as luxury purchases, entertainment expenses or gambling, the repayment amount increases.

Your spouse may be treated as having income even without a job
This is a commonly misunderstood point. Even if your spouse is not working now, if the court considers that they are able to work, it makes its assessment on that basis. As a result, the range recognized as dependents may shrink and the repayment amount may rise.

Overseas travel records are checked too
This item has recently become important in correction requests in Wonju personal rehabilitation. You must submit immigration records, and spending before and after the trip is analyzed as well. Travel while in debt can be judged to be luxury spending.

Correction request preparation checklist
- The correction request is a stage you must get through to continue the rehabilitation procedure.
- Amounts whose use you cannot explain increase the repayment amount.
- Luxury spending is treated as an asset.
- Your spouse's income and overseas travel records also have an effect.
