KBA-registered divorce and insolvency specialties
Attorney Ahn Hyunhee holds two registered practice fields with the Korean Bar Association: divorce, registered in 2024, and insolvency, registered in 2021. Field registration is granted to lawyers who meet the Association's requirements for case experience and continuing education. Matters where a divorce and a debt problem are tangled together can be handled in one office.
Consult the attorney in person
Ahn Hyunhee, who passed the 48th Judicial Examination and completed the 38th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute, conducts consultations personally. Once instructed, a lawyer and a staff member are assigned to the matter, and the same people carry it through, whether it ends in settlement or in judgment. The office opened in Wonju in 2011 and has practised since as a member of the Gangwon Bar Association.
A lawyer in Wonju, not Seoul
Legal help is reassuring when it is close by. Our office has been in Wonju since 2011, handling cases at the Wonju Branch of the Chuncheon District Court, close enough to meet whenever you need to talk.
Your rights come first
We set the direction of every case by your rights and interests. We explain what each option gains and what it costs, and decide together once you fully understand.
One-to-One, In Confidence
Consultations are one-to-one between lawyer and client. What is discussed, and the conduct of the matter itself, are covered by the duty of confidentiality under the Attorney-at-Law Act. You can consult without having decided whether to litigate. It is reasonable to hear first what is possible and what is not, and decide afterwards.
From Evidence to Judgment, One Office
We do not stop at securing the material. The next decision, negotiate or file, is taken with you and carried out from the same desk. If you settle, the terms and deadlines go into writing; if it goes to court, the same lawyer appears as counsel. Because the person who knows the background stays on the case, you never have to explain it from the start again.

Frequently asked questions
How do I book a consultation?
Press 「Book a consultation」 or 「Leave an inquiry」 on this website and choose a weekday time between 09:00 and 18:00, in one-hour slots. Submitting a request does not confirm the booking: the person in charge will check the schedule and contact you to confirm it. You can also book by phone on 1577-0448, or reach us through the KakaoTalk channel or Naver Booking.
What do the consultation and the legal fees cost?
The first consultation is free and lasts 60 minutes. Fees depend on the type of case, its difficulty, and how far the procedure runs, so we do not publish a fixed schedule, the figure is set out in the consultation. Court costs such as stamp duty, service fees and any deposit the procedure requires are separate disbursements. We give the likely range first, and you can decide whether to instruct us after hearing it.
Could what I say in the consultation get out?
Under the Attorney-at-Law Act a lawyer is bound to keep confidential what they learn in the course of their work, and that duty applies just the same where the consultation ends without an engagement. Consultations are one to one with Ahn Hyunhee, and neither what is discussed nor the documents you bring are used for any purpose other than handling the matter. You can speak plainly even before deciding whether to litigate.
What should I bring to the consultation?
Nothing is strictly required beyond photo ID. For a debt matter, creditor notices showing amounts, a credit information report, and something evidencing recent income will speed things up. For a divorce or affair-partner matter, the messages, photographs and property or account records you already hold are useful. For a criminal matter, bring the summons or disposition notice you received. A consultation is still possible with none of it.
Who conducts the consultation, and how?
Consultations are conducted in person by Ahn Hyunhee at the office, one to one, for 60 minutes at the booked time. She passed the 48th Judicial Examination, completed the 38th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute, opened her office in Wonju in 2011, and practises as a member of the Gangwon Bar Association. She is registered with the Korean Bar Association as a specialist in two fields: insolvency (2021) and divorce (2024). If you instruct us, the lawyer who took the consultation stays with the case.
Can I consult you if I do not live in Wonju?
You do not have to live in Wonju to consult us or to instruct us. Which court hears the case, though, is fixed by the type of case and the parties' addresses, and that in turn affects how the matter runs and when. Most of our work is at the Wonju Branch of Chuncheon District Court, but jurisdiction varies case by case, so we establish which court applies at the consultation.
Will my family or my employer find out?
There is no procedure by which the court notifies your family or your employer that a case is running. Documents are served at your registered address, so if post is shared at home it is worth settling the service address in advance. In rehabilitation and bankruptcy matters, income or asset records for dependants may be required, and where a family member stood as guarantor, creditors can claim against them directly. We map out what becomes visible at the consultation.
Can I just have the consultation and decide later?
Yes. You can hear what is possible, what is not, and which procedure fits your situation, and decide afterwards. If you do instruct us, we sign a retainer, a lawyer and a staff member are assigned, and from that point we set out the documents needed and the order to obtain them. We tell you where the case stands and what the next hearing covers as things happen, and questions in between reach us by phone or the KakaoTalk channel.
